Wednesday

Wednesday DC
By: Toni Winiker

Today was a relatively awesome day! No regrets. Nothing bad to say.
This morning when we woke up Mein and Pheobe (fruzins friend cusins that live here.) came to the hotel and hung out with us. When Lila had finished bathing and Mein finished brushing her hair, we set off on a breakfast adventure.

We went to union station, on the metro. Last night, when I had finished typing out the day 1 review, I had planed out today and decided what metro we should take, what direction we should go, and how many stops it would take us to get there. I was proud. So from the hotel we walked to metro center. From there we bought 6 round trip tickets. (Lila didn't need one because she was not old enough!! 👍☺). We walked down the escalators to the trains, then we looked at the map to confirm my calculations. Running to catch the right train 🚂🚂 we bolted to the red line train heading toward the food.☕🍩🍳🍓🍎 After 3 stops of Lila whining about how hungry she is we headed to the restaurant.

Carrying handfuls of bagels, OJ, and croissants, went to the heart if the station to find seating. When we were done we went to the bathroom and back on the metro.

Off to the portrait gallery for lunch and to reenact the paintings and statues. After that we had to wait in line for the Spy Museum, THE BEST MUSEUM IN THE UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!! This time they had a whole exhibit of James Bond. It was really cool. Next Meredith, Lila, and I went to have lunch and rest at the hotel. Meanwhile Gus,dad,Mein, and Phoebe went to go drop Mein and Phoebe off at play practice. They also went to the Spy Museum gift shop and the Dairy Godmother. LUCKY!!!!!!!

After resting we went to have dinner in Chinatown. It was so good!!!!!!
I had this amazing sesame chicken. It was awesome. Then we came back and now here I am typing it up!!!
THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🍦🍦📰🌆🏯🎎🌍🌎🌏

P.S. when i told dad I was done he said oh yeah that was good after eating frozen custard!!!¡

Day One

Monday: DC
Toni's review of today
Today was a good day in dc. When we woke up we had to go to a different hotel. This hotel we were staying at was okay it was called the Candlewood suites. But it didn't have a breakfast buffet and the lady at the counter didn't stay at the counter very much and help. And when she was there she was just watching weird relate TV shows that were really weird. So I guess you could say it was a nice hotel with comfy beds and a cool elevator, but bad costumer service and no breakfast buffet. So when we  woke up Lila had quit throwing up and was okay and we had to go downstairs and get a luggage cart. Me and Gus had go put all our junk in the car. And Gus was being really mean and sarcastic, so basically he was being 13.

When we finally got out of the hotel we went to have breakfast at a cute little coffee shop in Alexandria called St. Elmo's. it was really good and right next to the dairy godmother which is a really good ice cream and frozen custard shop. AMAZING!! So after St. Elmo's we . Checked into the hotel we are at now. It's the Hotel Harrington. I like this hotel, it's really old though but it's pretty cool. The room is big to there are 2 single beds and 2 double beds. And 2 bathrooms. The people at the front desk seem nice enough and in the lobby there are a ton of British kids and the girl that was talking sounds like the announcer for quidich from Harry Potter.

After we scoped out the scene we walked to the Natural History Museum. We looked at the dinasoures which are a have to see even if your not with your kids. After that me and Gus split up from Lila, dad, and Meredith. We went to go see the hope diamond, the space place, and all the rocks and minerals. It was really cool. Even if your not a science nerd. When we all found our way back together we went to go see the evaluation exhibit and go see the video about the Mammals.  After that we went to the national gallery of art to have lunch and look at some cool paintings and states of naked ladies. I understand how they wanted to capture them in their purest form and that was when they were naked, but that just didn't speak it me. Lunch was really good it was all cafeteria style so you had a variety of options. I got a sandwich that was really good. After lunch we walked on the moving sidewalk toward the more modern art side. We then looked at some cool art then walked back to the hotel to rest. We did that for about an hour and a half. Then we went to the mall and took some pictures of us and the Capitol building. Then we went to the American history museum. It's so cool! We saw the ruby slippers Dorothy wore in the wizard of oz. Also the original Kermit the frog. We saw the history of war and the solders. We saw the first steam locomotive. And more stuff like the history of food, the types of different caps of coffee to go, and the evaluation of Gatorade bottles. It was really interesting. After that we went back to the hotel then to Joe and Mimi's house. We played with Phoebe, had dinner and leafed when Gus threw a shoe at me for no reason. Then I typed up this.
